Moderator SOP and the Strikes System

DRTAC7
  • This article explains who the moderators are and what they do.

Definition
Community Moderators moderate content in the Discord and step in to cease arguments on TeamSpeak
If you have an issue with a post on Discord or an incident on TeamSpeak, please report it immediately to a moderator via a direct message (DM) on Discord.

Our Procedure
When a problem occurs or is reported, Moderators will take the following steps:

  • Moderator(s) will review the content and make a decision as to whether there is a violation of the pillars.
  • Moderator(s) will remove the content or step in and stop the argument.
    • Members must comply with a Moderator's directives, at the time of the incident.
  • Those involved will be privately notified of the decision via a direct message (DM).
  • In certain circumstances, a moderator may post a general notification in #announcements on Discord. (This notification will not include any names.)
  • Moderators will screenshot the offending comment and document it internally, for record keeping purposes. (Pertains primarily to Discord)

Note: It is not the responsibility of the Moderators nor the Eidolon Council to act as mediator, arbitrator, or therapist when a member has a grievance or dispute with another member or leader.
You are expected to have the maturity to settle interpersonal disputes yourself.

Moderator Abilities

  • Moderators may delete Discord posts
  • Moderators may temporarily mute you on Discord for up to 24 hours. This means you cannot post in Discord for that duration.
  • Moderators may temporarily kick users from Discord
  • Moderators may temporarily move member(s) from any channel to another channel on TeamSpeak.
  • Moderators may temporarily kick users from TeamSpeak
  • Moderators may temporarily ban users from TeamSpeak

Whenever a moderator performs one of the above actions, they must document it in an internal Discord channel visible to other moderators and Eidolon Council members.
A record will also be made in a private section of the GOTR website.

Note: Moderators must have some way to contact you privately. Please do not block moderators or members of the EC on Discord, Teamspeak, or the website.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in a strike. Continued failure to comply will result in a ban.

If you have an issue with a particular moderator or EC member, please address it with Robo or another trusted moderator/EC member.

Three Strikes System

Any member may be given a strike, when they commit an action that violates one of the Pillars, or repeatedly exhibit inappropriate behaviour that disrupts the internal harmony of GOTR.
Committing a violation will not always result in a strike.

  • Strike 1
    • A Moderator will notify you of a strike via a private DM on Discord (or via the website, if you cannot be reached by Discord).
In certain circumstances, a meeting on TeamSpeak will occur.
  • Strike 2
    • Another infraction occurred that warrants a strike. This is your final warning.
  • Strike 3
    •  Final action resulting in removal from GOTR.

Upon joining GOTR, a new member will be placed on a 30 day trial period.
During this time the strikes system does not apply and that member may be removed from the outfit at the discretion of the Eidolon Council or Community Moderators.

Note: In extreme or extenuating circumstances, the Eidolon Council can remove any member immediately, if they feel such action is warranted.
